The drug targets three intestinal hormones – glucagon-like peptide-1, glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide and pancreatic hormone. But counterfeit injections are extremely dangerous. You cannot know what’s inside or whether the environment they were made in was sterile,” she said.
